Tariff whiplash is in full force🫨 That and price increases are on everyone’s minds. ESPECIALLY designers, trades and anyone in construction. The past few days our inboxes at haywoodmade are seeing vendor and showroom emails communicating their POV on price increases and how they will be navigating them. The team and I are making strategic choices about where we are sourcing to minimize the risk of increase to our clients. Monday feels like a week ago. I digress, here are my thoughts:

1. This is created chaos.
2. The day-to-day disruption with a side of uncertainty is A LOT.
3. We have very little visibility into the future.

My advice: If you are considering a project at any point in 2025, NOW is the time to start the design process. Covid taught us was that when prices go up, they don’t come down. Read: in the future nothing will cost less than it does right now. We can also anticipate that this will cause a ripple effect for lead times in our supply chain. Buckle up, folks. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Having said all that, we will weather this storm and always keep our clients homes at the heart of what we do. If you are someone toying with the idea of a design project, we do have a few openings still available:

FF&E: 1 opening available now
FF&E + Light Construction: 1 opening available now
New Build: 1 Q3 opening

The bathroom that when we bought the house in 2016 I said would be one of the first things to go...except several babies, life and more time sensitive renovations took a front seat (read: multiple floods). It's finally time and we left NOTHING behind.

Next up is removing the radiator, moving the lines for that to add a towel bar radiator behind the door and lay down electric floor heat. Follow along for the entire day by day process in stories🔨

A literal ☀️ & 🌙 transformation in the Chestnut primary bedroom. This room was a treat to design thanks to the vaulted ceiling and beautiful windows.

Spring break 2025🇲🇽 The kids first international trip (Sylvie’s first ✈️), first swim with 🐬 and it was an absolute success. The all inclusive life was loved and enjoyed by all♥️ And mama needs a 3 day 😴
We love creating moments of pattern and color in powder rooms. The recipe is one we repeat over and over fitting each to our clients unique aesthetics: wallpaper (or a punch of color) and a vintage mini rug to anchor even the smallest of spaces🤩 Which is your fav??

Life is better with friends, margaritas and the ocean♥️🍹🌊 So grateful for time away and for these women in my life.
What is the one piece of furniture we can put anywhere (and EVERYWHERE😉?)

A bench or ottoman. They serve so many functional purposes in entries, living rooms, dining rooms, even as a small foot print coffee table. The versatility is endless. We especially love when we can snag a vintage piece and reupholster it! Comment and tell us which is your favorite♥️

That’s a wrap! Final furniture placed, window treatments installed and this house feels extra cozy with a blanket of snow. Back to Chicago before I head off to Mexico for a 40th girls trip next week☀️
It may not be the professional shot yet, but it's still pretty dang good🤩 Swipe for the before👉️
We LOVE and live for referrals🥰 Our Oakdale clients referred their neighbors last year after we completed this kitchen and main floor in early 2024. Now we have the joy of working with our Lakewood client on her kitchen and main floor furnishings. Two completely different vibes (though both have Nancy Meyers nods worked in) and we are so excited to share more of Lakewood this year💫

Feb so far♥️ When you were sick for 80% of it, it really flies🫠

1. New project in Beverly
2. Our @annsacks main floor bath tile arrived
3. Thayer electrical and framing complete
4. Lakewood concepts
5. Pierce kids bath tile complete
Working on the Pierce kids bathroom has me looking back on some of my fav kid centric haywoodmade spaces. The goal: always cute, functional and able to grow as the kiddos do😉

The Pensacola office was featured in @archdigest last week in a round up of home offices🖤 We designed this space around the custom @ottraxzw desk back in 2019 and I love that it is still resonates. While we love a trend, we center our designs around classic elements with a fresh take that stand the test of time. Check out the article in stories!

A dream design experience so far at @parisdecooff_home taking in ALL the beauty❤️ A few of my favs and even more to come!
The last time I was in Paris it was 2013 right after Mike and I got engaged. We were babies! I'm SO excited to be heading to @parisdecohomeofficial on Monday with @xx_samanthaleigh and get ready for us to max out Parisian IG content🤩🇫🇷
Entering into 2025 sharing a round up of some of our fav entry moments🤩 How is everyone livin'? Happy to be back in a routine or still holiday dreaming?

A shot of our primary and its evolution (still need to professionally capture the new headboard and drapes!) because all I can think about is that there needs to be a revision to the Night Before Christmas to include a part about parents being nestled snug in their beds😴 The magic fatigue is setting in...how is everyone holding up? 2 more sleeps!
Going into 2025 continuing our core approach to design while pushing a few boundaries😉 My semi-controversial hot take: I’m a brass girlie through and through but something shifted this year when seeing more handmade hardware collections in different finishes. Especially copper and polished nickel. We are going all in on polished nickel with our main floor bathroom reno in 2025 and I am loving it. What is your take??
Upcoming holiday breakfasts make me think about eat-in kitchen nooks and the high-use spaces they are🥞🥓☕️ Swipe for a round up of some of our favs!

1. Asbury - in collaboration with @denisehauserdesign
2. Leclaire
3. Newport
4. Chestnut - work in progress!
5. Wayne - the existing banquette bench was great and we added a custom table for more function

High impact, jewel box space brought to you by 🐍 + 🌿 in the Pierce powder room. Swipe for the mixed metal details and the before⏩️

And our first high tank 🚽! When @xx_samanthaleigh challenged a standard toilet with this beauty, it was a no brainer.
With the holidays around the corner, I’ve been reflecting on family rooms. The memories created there over the course of years, traditions born in those spaces, the formative experiences for kids who later grow up to start their own traditions and how special that all is.

These are a few of my favorite family rooms: my house, Briar, Oakley, Queens Lane and Newport❤️
